Hyrox Athlete Group Training Plan

Looking to take part in a Hyrox type event for the first time? Want to improve your previous Hyrox time? Aiming to feel more prepared before a race, or just less depleted afterwards? Then the Hyrox athlete group is for you. A plan designed to help you bring your best self to every Hyrox or Functional Fitness Racing event and improve on specific skills for these events.

We’ve been adapting our OCR group plan for a while for our Hyrox-focused athletes and they have had huge success! Our athletes have had a number of podiums in their age groups and during a recent race we stormed Vienna with two female relay teams, taking first AND second place with times that would have left both teams in the top 25 ALL TIME rankings so we’re now really excited to bring you a completely focused Hyrox training plan!

WHAT IS IT?
A monthly group training plan for anyone looking to build their functional fitness. From preparing for your first Hyrox race to gaining the confidence to compete in your Age Group, this plan is an excellent option for anyone looking to stay focused in their Hyrox training and access a plan that is tailored to developing confidence and performance in the key areas of Hyrox, whether solo or doubles, open or pro.

Following on from the massive success of our OCR group training and adaptation for Hyrox events with athletes in that group we decided to dedicate a specific training space to Hyrox and similar events.

WHAT IS INCLUDED?

  • A weekly training plan personalised to the goals of the group. This will focus on the key elements of Fitness racing, with a lead focus on the UK’s most popular race - Hyrox. The program will be planned out each week but can easily be modified to suit your lifestyle needs.

  • Private access to our member only website where this plan is hosted. Easily download the app for IOS or Android to easily access your training plan at any time. This plan is only accessible to you and the group members as it is tailored to the group’s goals.

  • A shared group Google Sheet to keep you accountable, let you tick off your workouts and share performances and times each week (if you feel comfortable doing so) for some friendly competition.

  • Our community space will help to keep you motivated, stay on track with your training and compare your performance so you can keep progressing - races or not. It is a safe space for sharing goals, race successes and asking questions about Hyrox. We will use the group to build the spirit and community of the group and give you some friendly faces to cheer you on across the world. Many of you identified wanting to work on mindset and confidence so this will also provide support and resources on areas such as confidence, progression, recovery etc. This has already become such a positive space and such a supportive community for everyone involved.

  • A set taper plan guide to use when leading up to races.

  • Community, team spirit and celebration of your achievements through the Team Grit social media.

  • Access to an exclusive Whatsapp group for all Team Grit members.

  • Lots of support down at Hyrox events and a few cheeky beers and pizza after!

FAQs

Do I need access to a gym to sign up?
You won’t need specific gym access but you will need access to a Ski-erg or Rower and some sort of weights. This doesn’t need to be in a gym or a specific brand but will be essential to training.

Can I move the workouts around?
Yes, each week we will give you guidance on the best way to structure your week but we know sometimes life gets in the way so feel free to move the workouts around to suit you. Just try to leave a rest day before your quality session.

How much does it cost?
We want to make the journey to Hyrox accessible so we have kept our group plan as low cost as possible. You will get all of the above for just £25 a month and the plan can be cancelled at any time with no long term commitments because we know situations can change!

Do I need to be a top-level athlete to begin?
Not at all! We currently have athletes working with us ranging from those preparing for their first open or age group race to those hitting age group podiums who are looking to increase their journey. As long as you have basic fitness (we’d suggest being able to run for an hour is a good base) then there are ways to scale workouts to suit a variety of fitness levels. I’m not based in the UK, is that ok?
Yes, the plan is all accessed through the Team Grit website and your membership will be through Memberspace so you can access it from anywhere in the world and we have athletes working with us globally.

When can I join?
You can now join whenever you are ready. Once we have checked your application we will drop you an email with all the details for your next steps. Your first week will consist of 3 benchmark workouts and then you’ll be able to jump right in with the rest of the gang!
