Team Grit Elevation Challenge

Team Grit Elevation Challenge

Click here to see the overall results. (This will be updated on a Sunday).

We’ve had a burpee competition and a WOTW challenge so with house arrests being loosened and all countries (that we know of) being able to get outside to explore their local areas we thought it was time to clock some miles, so we’re bringing out the hills!

Races can be won on lost on the mountains (and the races will come back - we’re already seeing this happening in the USA in just a few weeks) and with some of the most famous OCR races climbing to the top of the likes of Big Bear, Tahoe & Killington, getting your legs mountain goat ready can be key! We might not have those impressive heights here in Singapore but Bukit Timah Hill does the job and we’re confident that wherever you are in the world you’ve got access to a hill or a flight of stairs.

So for the month of June we are going to launch a Team Grit elevation challenge. It’s a simple one, the most accumulated elevation over the month wins. We will post a weekly leaderboard during this time and we will announce our overall male and female winner on the first of July!

Our top male and female winners will stand the chance to win their choice of Team Grit vest OR a training program of their choice so it’s well worth getting up those hills!

We are excited about getting the team together on Strava!

We are excited about getting the team together on Strava!

The Rules:
All you need to do is to join the Team Grit OCR Strava as this will automatically track your elevation and you’ll be able to see where you stack up against others. You should be able to join the team here: https://www.strava.com/clubs/teamgritocr or just search “Team Grit OCR” on Strava.

If you are unable to use Strava or it is not suitable (e.g. you are using your staircase at home and working out the elevation manually) then you are also welcome to send your weekly elevation to teamgritocr@gmail.com and we will add this to your ongoing total (please submit either screenshots of your fitness watch or other suitable evidence with this). Please share this weekly with us, by 11am on the Sunday each week.

Elevation gains must be made on your own two feet. You are welcome to run, hike or combine the two but any cycling or any other crazy alternative methods will not be included in your total.

We will report the results weekly on a Sunday afternoon in Singapore so you can stay on track of the competition. The cut off will be Sunday 11am, but if you’re in a different time zone then we’ll just roll this on to the following week. Final totals will be taken at midnight on June 30th and we will announce the final winners on July 1st.

Please make sure you adhere to your countries rules for social distancing.

Drop a comment below if you’ve got any questions and good luck - let’s get climbing!
